LIMU’s participation in the XXXIV Russian school-seminar “Waves-2023”

From 28th of May to 2nd June 2023, for the first time in the last few years, the XXXIV Russian school-seminar "Waves-2023" was held in in-person format. LIMU presented 9 talks in several sections, and four of our PhD and MS students were awarded certificates for the best presentation in their sections.

Congratulations to Vera Khokhlova with an honorary award!

V.A. Khokhlova received the honorary award of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) - the Rayleigh-Helmholtz Interdisciplinary Silver Medal in Biomedical Acoustics and Physical Acoustics. The ASA announcement for this award recognizes Vera Khokhlova’s contributions to the application of nonlinear acoustics to medical ultrasound and her important role in the evolution of this field.

Shamil Asfandiyarov received the «Young Scientists 2.0» fellowship of the project “Synthesis” of the Gennady Komissarov Foundation for the support of young scientists

On February 22, 2023, the project of LIMU graduate student Shamil Asfandiyarov "Development and research of a multi-element spiral focusing array for creating high-intensity ultrasound beams in the air" was submitted for funding under the program "Young Scientists 2.0" of the project "Synthesis" of the Gennady Komissarov Foundation for the Support of Young Scientists. The project is being carried out under the supervision of Sapozhnikov O.A. Congratulations!

LIMU participation in the XXXV session of the Russian Acoustics Society

On February 13-17, a LIMU team took part in the XXXV session of the Russian Acoustics Society. A total of 18 papers were presented by LIMU in the sections "Nonlinear Acoustics", "Ultrasonic Technologies", "Bioacoustics and Medical Applications of Acoustic Methods" and "Physical Acoustics". All of our undergraduate and graduate students were awarded diplomas for the best young professional paper!

Alisa Krokhmal received a Ph.D. degree

On 28th of December 2022, a PhD student Alisa Krokhmal has successfully defended her PhD thesis "Positioning objects using acoustic radiation force in biofacturing problems" at the R.V. Khokhlov central auditorium. The PhD thesis was carried out under the supervision of Professor Oleg Sapozhnikov. Congratulations to Alisa and her supervisor!

The scientific research of LIMU young scientists is supported by scholarships of the Rector of Moscow State University and the BASIS Foundation

Junior research fellow Pavel Rosnitskiy and PhD student Anastasia Kvashennikova (Tyurina) became laureates of the rector's scholarship of Moscow State University for 2023. PhD student Elena Konnova and bachelor student Arina Mironova became winners of the BASIS Foundation competition for scholarships for students of the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University. Congratulations to the young scientists of LIMU!

Maria Karzova gave a lecture to the students of the school AESC MSU

On 22nd of November 2022, a meeting of senior researcher Maria Karzova with 11th grade students took place at the Kolmogorov boarding school AESC MSU. Maria Karzova gave a lecture about physical methods in medicine, the prospects of ultrasound surgery in the future, and the possibilities of scientific work at the LIMU laboratory.
