The team of students of the laboratory became the winner of the competition of scientific and technical initiatives of the Lomonosov Moscow State University «Science XXI». The project is dedicated to the development of amplitude-phase masks for single-element acoustic transducers. The team included PhD students Nikolayev Dmitry and Asfandiyarov Shamil, as well as bachelor students Kaloev Azamat and Krendeleva Anna.

The project proposes a method for calculating and producing amplitude-phase masks that will allow implementing spatial modulation of the acoustic field structure at megahertz frequencies.

High quality of modulation is achieved by using a combination of two phase masks. The phase masks are calculated by solving the inverse problem taking into account the uneven vibration of the transducer surface. For the production of masks, 3D printing is used by the SLA method. This development can be used in such areas as the creation of acoustic traps and compensation of aberrations induced by the skull, when visualizing brain structures.
