From May 28 to June 02, 2023, the XXXIV All-Russian School-seminar “Wave Phenomena: Physics and Applications” named after Professor A.P. Sukhorukov (“Waves-2023”), organized by the Department of Photonics and Microwave Physics of the Faculty of Physics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, was held in-person format for the first time in recent years.

More than 170 participants, including 10 from LIMU, took part in the School. The program of the school was very rich and included 11 sections devoted to various areas of research and application of wave phenomena and processes. Within the framework of these sections, invited experts delivered fascinating lectures, and oral and poster presentations highlighted recent results on various topical problems.

From the LIMU 9 reports were presented by PhD students E.O. Konnova, L.M. Kotelnikova, D.D. Chupova, P.A. Pestova, Sh.A. Asfandiyarov and A.V. Kvashennikova, MS students F.A. Nartov and O.V. Solontsov and research fellow S.A. Tsysar. According to the results of the voting, four members of our laboratory were awarded certificates for the best presentation: Asfandiyarov Shamil in the section “Acoustics of inhomogeneous media”, Nartov Fedor for the best poster report, Konnova Elena in the section “Mathematical problems of wave physics” and Pestova Polina in the section “Bio- and medical applications of wave physics”.

Our laboratory actively participated in the organizing and running the School “Waves-2023”. Oleg Sapozhnikov was a member of the program committee, and Suren Petrosyan, Sergey Tsysar and Anastasia Lapina were the members of the school organizing committee.

Recordings of the speeches of our LIMU participations can be viewed on the school’s Youtube channel.
